Consultation & Mediation

Adoption or Purchase? What’s the Difference?

Your horse can be free if you adopt it—plus, the U.S. government pays the adopter $1,000 after one year. However, your mustang can only be flown out of the country after this year has passed.

Alternatively, you can purchase a mustang directly from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) starting at just $125.

A common misconception is that only unwanted horses are sold. In reality, our mustangs are carefully selected by expert horsepeople and come with all necessary paperwork for import to Europe. They do not have to stay in the U.S. for a full year and can go to their new owner right after their basic training. They are registered, and the buyer is officially recorded as the owner!

The real costs arise after the purchase—for training, veterinary care, transport, and the flight. The total cost for purchasing and importing a Mustang is around $15,000.
Transparency: No hidden costs, no risk.
Authentic Mustangs: No scams or questionable deals.
Carefully Selected: You get a registered mustang, not a “blind purchase.”

Why Work with Us?

Individualized & horse-friendly preparation
Direct collaboration with the BLM
No uncertain purchases – full transparency & guidance

What is a Mustang?

Mustangs are not a specific breed—the name comes from the Spanish word mestengo, meaning “wild” or “feral.” They grow up in the wild and survive through natural selection.

A true Mustang:
Is born and raised in the wild
Develops instincts and social skills within a herd
Has a freeze brand on the left side of its neck

Most of our mustangs have at least four years of wilderness experience before arriving at a holding facility. This makes them naturally resilient and socially well-adjusted.
If you prefer a younger horse or one that has been in a facility longer, that is also possible—we help you find the perfect match.
